The PFUJ demanded an inquiry into the murder and stated that the culprits be brought to justice.

KARACHI: Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) condemned the murder of a newspaper employee of daily Assas in Karachi on Thursday.

The manner in which he has been killed has spread fear among media persons. Imran Ashfaq, 32, was gunned down by unknown persons who came to his apartment, Shahid Square, in FB Area Block 7 and shot and killed him after asking his name.

He was married two to three years back and leaves behind a widow and a daughter to mourn his death, says a press release issued here Monday. The deceased had been working in Daily Assas Karachi for the last 7 to eight years.

The PFUJ demanded an inquiry into the murder and stated that the culprits be brought to book, and be given exemplary punishment.
