CNG stations to stay closed for three days
FAISALABAD: As many as 350 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations of Faisalabad district will remain closed for three days from Thursday to Saturday morning.
According to a spokesman for the CNG Station Owners Association, gas supply to CNG outlets will remain suspended from 6 am on Thursday (September 8) to 6 am on Saturday (September 10).
However, he protested against the three-day supply outages, saying “it is a conspiracy to damage the business of CNG station owners who have invested billions of rupees.”
He asked the government to review its gas load management schedule and exempt CNG stations from supply suspension as it was not only ruining their business, but was also creating problems for transporters as well as commuters.
A spokesman for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) said the suspension of gas supply to CNG stations was a must to cope with the energy shortfall. He asked the owners of CNG stations to avoid selling gas during the period of suspension and warned that in case of violation they would have to face action besides getting their gas connections disconnected.
