ISLAMABAD – The UN is urging Pakistan to investigate this week’s murder of a journalist in Balochistan, a December 17 UN statement said.


Muhammad Khan Sasoli, 36, was the fourth media professional to be killed in Pakistan in less than two weeks.


He worked for Royal TV and the INP news agency in Khuzdhar and was the president of the town’s press club. Two men on a motorcycle shot him outside his home December 14 He died instantly.


The Committee to Protect Journalists earlier this month called Pakistan the worst country for journalists. More than eight were killed on the job this year.
