ISLAMABAD, Jun 15 (APP):Expressing grave concern over massive retrenchments in the Rohi TV Channel, the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has demanded of the federal as well as the Punjab government to take notice of such unlawful acts. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the PFUJ said that over 90 workers attached with the Rohi TV were restrained from discharging their duties.

The channel acquired services of professional journalists and other media-related employees with a firm assurance that their jobs would be of permanent nature.
“The channel management first made false promises with media workers in order to acquire their services as they were working in well established organisations, but later deceived and sacked them when their channel attracted a reasonable viewer-ship” the statement added.
The PFUJ further said that the termination in the media organization have become order of the day as regulatory authorities and the labour department were playing the role of a silent spectator.
