Portuguese model Renato Seabra plead not guilty to the murder of celebrity journalist, Carlos Castro at the Manhattan Supreme Court yesterday, according to Reuters.

The couple were staying at the Intercontinental Hotel at Times Square in January when the model attacked the journalist.

In an attack that lasted about an hour, Seabra reportedly hit Castro in the face with a corkscrew and then used it to cut off his testicles. He also smashed a computer monitor on the journalist's head and stamped on his face. Seabra then reportedly showered, put on a suit and left the hotel as Castro bled to death.

It's unclear why Seabra flew into such a rage, but according to NY Daily News Seabra reportedly told police he wasn't gay and that he had attacked the journalist to rid him of his "homosexual demons". The DailyMail reported that Castro had refused to take the model on an expensive shopping trip, which fueled his wrath.

Seabra is currently being held at Bellevue Hospital Center after he slit his wrists, Reuters reported.
