ITNE admits 34 more cases for regular hearing

Islamabad, Sept 26: The Implementation Tribunal for Newspaper Employees,(ITNE) Islamabad , established under Section 12-A of the Newspaper Employees (Conditions of Service) Act, 1973, for ensuring implementation of the Wage Board Award has admitted for regular hearing 34 more cases filed by the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) against various newspaper owners on charge of non-implementation of 7th Wage Board Award.


The ITNE directed owners of all such newspapers / magazines, weeklies, etc to file statements as well as submit complete record of employees working in their respective organisations and details of wages, allowances being paid to them since July I, 2000.


The ITNE also asked sought record pertaining to attendance of their employees, appointment letters etc., and other vital information.

The names of newspapers, magazines, etc., against whom notices have been issued include Montly Global Science, Karachi, Monthly Naya Rukh, Karachi, Monthly Josoosi Digest, Karachi, Monthly Investment & Marketing, Karachi, Daily Gujranwala Times, Gujranwala, Daily Khabroon, Karachi, Daily Jurat, Rawalpindi, Daily Nashriat, Faisalabad, Daily Mahasib, Muzaffarabad, Mthly Naya Ufaq, Karachi, Onthly Defence Journal, Karachi, Mthly Pakeeza, Karachi, Monthly Fashion Collection, Karachi, Fortnightly Engineering Review, Karachi, Aily Pak, Karachi, Aily Nawa-E-Nawab Shah, Karachi, Daily Deyanat, Sukkur, Aily Aghaza, Karachi, Daily Millat Gujrati / Urdu, Karachi, Daily Pakistan & Gulf Economist, Karachi, Monthly,Diva, Karachi, Daily Kainat, Karachi, Daily Awami Awaz, Karachi, Monthly Newsline, Karachi, Weekly Paigham-E-Sindh, Karachi, Fortnightly Ibrat, Hyderabad, Fortnightly Ibrat Magazine, Hyderabad, Daily The International News, Karachi, Monthly Economic Outlook, Karachi, Fortnightly Fasla, Karachi, Daily Hilal-E-Pakistan, Karachi, Daily Afkar-E-Jahan, Karachi, Monthly Hamdard Naunehal, Karachi, And Weekly Akhbar-E-Jahan, Karachi.

The PFUJ asked all employees working in such outlets to immediately submit their claims, objections, grievances, viz-a-viz 7thWage Award and the present pay structure.

The PFUJ further stated that it would ensure recovery of all arrears, and legitimate dues of employees from of their organizations provided they intimate particulars of their employment, with specific reference of actual amount being paid to them by the employers, nature of duties being perfumed by them.


If they were not issued letters of appointment even then they should intimate their particulars indicating date of working and other information about their job, the PFUJ asked.

It may be noted that the PFUJ has filed more than 1500 cases against all media outlets (print media) for non implementation of the 7th Wage Board Award before the ITNE.


Any newspaper employee having any complaint or objection, grievance for non-implementation of the 7th Wage Board Award and for recovery of his legitimate wages, allowances admissible under the Labour Laws, can contact the PFUJ by sending complaints / applications.
